Fashion Doll
Makeover Tips

a.k.a. LDSmith’s Designs for Dolls Customizing Tips,
plus a bit more

Many of the tips here were first gathered as part of my now defunct DesignsForDolls web site, Customizing Tips & Techniques pages. I don’t have digital or print copies of those complete pages, but I have been able to gather some bits and pieces, and add to it from my own recollections and fashion doll customizing experiences, and more recently from my experiences making my handmade marionettes and dolls.

Since losing much of the original information and no longer being able to track many of the original tip contributors, I have decided to include mostly tips that I wrote myself (based on my own experience, or a compilation of similar ideas from multiple artists), or patterns that are my own original designs.

I hope these pages are as valuable to you as the help of fellow doll makers and artists have been to me. I thank all those who have freely offered tips and suggestions to be shared on the old DesignsForDolls site, and therefore influencing the material presented on this newer site.

I give the information away for personal or educational use without any obligation to pay; however, I will accept small voluntary donations to help cover my host fees (if you can afford it).

Thank you for your cooperation,
Lynn Kershaw-Smith
